Thank You Boris Mann and Troy Angrignon!

Boris Mann http://www.bryght.com/ and Troy Angrignon http://www.troyangrignon.com/ were kind enough to meet with the five members of Team Flow for a few hours on February 3rd to give us an introduction into the world of blogs and wikis. Beyond that, Boris went a step further and summarized our discussion for us on his blog the very next day!

Team Flow emerged from the meeting full of enthusiasm and ready to prepare a technology talk for our IT Management Course, which is part of our Simon Fraser University Executive MBA program. I personally was very interested in Aggregators and will attempt to set one up as soon as I get half a minute between work and school.

Unfortunately we (Team Flow) are still a bit too busy finishing off our MBA program to capitalize on the enthusiasm that we left Boris and Troy's presentation with. This is evidenced by the fact that it took us over a week to blog our meeting, whereas it took Boris a matter of hours. After talking with Troy and Boris, we're feeling a bit like snails in a world of rabbits.

Although - I must say that my company is an early adopter of Wiki technology. I work for an engineering firm and we have been using Wiki technology for the last year and a half for our intranet and client accessed project pages. It's been a great way to leverage the knowledge of individuals and create a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Anyway, as soon as our MBA classes are completed in April, I'm sure all of the members of Team Flow will be venturing deeper into the world of blogs and wikis.

Why should I care about Blogs?

As part of an IT class for an executive MBA program, team Flow has to find and describe a technology that we think will have an impact on the business world. After considering five different topics, we selected blogs.

So now we are trying to figure out where the world of blogs is headed. Apparently Bill Gates thinks it will revolutionize the way we communicate? I'm having trouble understanding how blogs are different from a normal website.
